Democrats ‘want to destroy America’: Donald Trump Jr’s girlfriend delivers firebrand speech
Former Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle warned America faces a bleak future unless President Donald Trump is re-elected during a noticeably fiery speech on the first night of the Republican National Convention.
President Trump said speakers at the convention would depict an optimistic vision for America, however Ms Guilfoyle warned the Democrats will try to “enslave” America if Joe Biden wins the presidential election in November.
“They want to steal your liberty, your freedom, they want to control what you see and think and believe so that they can control how you live,” Ms Guilfoyle said.
“They want to enslave you to the weak, dependent, liberal victim ideology to the point that you will not recognise this country or yourself.
“They want open borders, closed schools, dangerous amnesty, and will selfishly send your jobs back to China while they get rich. They will defund, dismantle, and destroy America’s law enforcement.”
Ms Guilfoyle, who is dating Donald Trump Jr, is the chair of the finance committee for the Trump Victory Committee and has been a long-time advocate for President Trump.
The speech was ridiculed by some on social media, who disputed the validity of some of Ms Guilfoyle’s claims and questioned why she was speaking so loudly in front of an empty auditorium.
The Republican National Convention will continue to run until Thursday, although Donald Trump has already accepted his party’s nomination to run against Joe Biden in November’s presidential election.
